HEhe. I don't know of the guy, but i can imagine the situation.

In holland, we had some political groups, like the movement of the animals. Sadly, our latest elections ended in some kind of draw. Basically, we had an instable government for the last 10 years or so, and the 'CDA', christian democrats, where the ones that were in the government. They are one of the best movements we have, since they can actually govern the country.

Now we have either the 'group for laborers' or the liberals, and i prefer the latter .The first is just a bunch of people who scream a lot of general things and never get anything done.

The movements that have been setup in protest, such as the movement for piracy, the movement of the animals, etc, haven't been chosen that much because 'we have more pressing matters', aka, things people care about.

Holland isn't that bad - yet. But when i'm in the train, and we're going past a national park (On a much smaller scale), and there's bucks (American elk, according to google).. And i hear parents tell their offspring that they are moose, i get really frustrated. The elks are the pride of the dutch deer/bucks. I mean, we have bucks and we have elks. In our language, they're called "Royal bucks". That's for a reason.

And then some unknowledgable parent is telling their kid its a moose. For the sake of the earth, we don't have moose in the netherlands outside a zoo.

I just really can't understand it. She is all around you, she governs you, and as often shown, we can't control her. Because we set ourselves outside the cycle, we have to defend ourselves. And because most of the time, we can defend our selves, we think we can control Her and bend Her. Somewhere we stopped caring. Parents should, at the very least, try to interest their kids.

When i was a kid at the age of 8-9, i was obsessed with it. Generally, i was autstic (Not actually, but i showed all of the requirements) with an obsession for nature. I revelled in it.

Yet kids around me can't keep an oak from a maple. If they ran into nettles, they don't know that very often, especially if there's grass around, "plantain" grows around. I thought them that once, and they were very happy with it. Next summer, they forgot.

Its a shame that basic nature knowledge isn't common any more. Things like nettles/plantain or some basic trees should be known. But since half our kids are taught by low-educated people, who really wouldn't know themselves, its crap. Especially with the dutch, where teachers are generally lower educated than they should (we have a shortage) and where the system is made like this:
Basic education -> Middle education -> Higher education (University and job-specific). Basic education hasn't got a set of predefined subjects, so they just do something they can.
